How to reset the password of SmarterStats without the current password?
Below mentioned are the steps to reset the password of SmarterStats, in case, if you forget the password:
- Login to Your Windows Server via Remote Desktop
- Go to Start Menu -> Administrative Tools -> Services.
- Locate the SmarterStats Service and Stop the service.
- Open My Computer.
- Go to C:\Program Files\SmarterTools\SmarterStats.
- Open the Directory MRS.
- Open the Directory App_Data.
- Open the Directory Config.
- Backup a copy of the file AppConfig.xml.
- Open AppConfig.xml file in Notepad to edit.
- Find the below section in the file:
<SmarterStatsPassword />
<SmarterStatsPasswordEnc> ... </SmarterStatsPasswordEnc> - Remove the above entries from the file AppConfig.xml and save the file.
- Start the SmarterStats Service.
- Browse SmarterStats and enter below default details to login to SmarterStats:
SiteID: admin
Username: admin
Password: admin
